January Meeting
The first meeting of 2007 will be at noon on Saturday, January 6th in Science Building room 382 at Calvin College.
Who’s Saying What?
Brandon Keepers will be speaking on RSpec on Rails.
What is RSpec?
In words coined from the RSpec homepage .... RSpec is a framework for practicing Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) in Ruby.
What’s Rails?
One of the best (if not the best, it’s debatable) web application frameworks around. If you don’t know or haven’t looked into it, please go to … http://www.rubyonrails.org
What’s RSpec on Rails?
Again, words coined from the RSpec homepage .... A Rails plugin that brings RSpec to Rails. For more information on RSpec on Rails please see http://rspec.rubyforge.org/tools/rails.html
What’s BDD?
In more words coined from the rspec homepage ... The aim of BDD is to address this shortcoming and, by using terminology focused on the behavioural aspects of the system rather than testing, attempt to help direct developers towards a focus on the real value to be found in TDD at its most successful, or BDD as we call it.
For more information on BDD you can refer to:
